Disturbances

The most common disorders that need speech therapy are:

 Talk disorders: joint disorder, sting disorder (stuttering), dysarthria, dyspraxia speech

Specialist's help
 
When does a child need the help of a specialist?
Depending on the age of the child, he or she may show signs of needing or perhaps needing to initiate speech therapy.
If it displays:

 Difficulties in chewing or swallowing fluids

 Often signs of choking

 Difficulties in understanding the oral speech

 Difficulty executing commands

 Difficulty learning new vocabulary

 Difficulty finding appropriate words

 Difficulty in making suggestions

 Difficulty in mimicking sounds

 Difficulty in starting or keeping a conversation

 Difficulty in gathering and memorizing

 Difficulty in articulation

 Editorial, grammatical or morphological errors e.g. wrong use of times

 Difficulty in referring to the past and future

 Difficulty reading and comprehension of written text
